Comfort around the heel and toes is more important than super fancy design. Smaller shops can be surprisingly friendly if they care about repeat customers. I like when a shop clearly shows PD, lens height and bridge width in millimeters.
If anyone is interested in real user experiences, I sometimes write short notes about the shops I test.

Everyone has different expectations, but real photos and detailed comments are useful for everyone. Trendy pieces are fun, but I only buy them when the price is reasonable. Sometimes a store looks great in ads but the real product is completely different. I also check if the lenses have any blue light filter or anti-reflection coating. If a deal looks too good to be true, it usually has some kind of catch. Sometimes customer service can fix a bad experience, but not always. For coats and blazers I usually go one size up if I want to layer sweaters under them.
